In December 2011, while working as Associate Director for Research at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal, I organized Re/Search and Deploy: The State of Contemporary Architectural Research, in collaboration with CCA Director Mirko Zardini. Over two days, participants from around the US and Canada, as well as Rome, London, Istanbul, and Madrid, discussed the wide range of architectural research strategies currently being pursued within university programs and independent architecture schools, philanthropic foundations, cultural organizations, and scholarly/artistic residency programs.
